Madrid, Oct 4 (IANS) Saul Ñiguez and Thiago Alcantara did not work out with the rest of the Spain footballers on Monday, but trained normally on Tuesday in the first session of the second day of the camp, which was joined by midfielder Ander Herrera.
Coach Julen Lopetegui is still betting on the players who achieved success in the youth national team. After including Inigo Martinez to replace the injured Javi Martinez, the last to be called was Ander Herrera because of doubts about the state of Thiago, who has muscle pains, reports Efe.
Thiago was the last to reach the training ground and was greeted with cheers and jokes from his team mates.
Spain will hold another training session on Tuesday night before playing against Italy on Thursday in the qualifiers for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
