Schalke General manager Horst Heldt made it clear that they had not received any formal bid from Arsenal for Julian Draxler.
Numerous rumours linked Julian Draxler with the Premier League giants. It was believed that Arsene Wenger would rope in the 20-year-old German midfielder, but Heldt made it clear that Arsenal have still not placed a formal bid for the midfielder, who has a £37 million release clause.
Heldt was quoted: “You should ask Mr Wenger, call him. There’s no contact with Arsenal or any other club. I cannot exclude the option we will sign Cristiano Ronaldo. I don’t need to talk about this.
“I understand why you are asking the question, but all the topics you mention need to be addressed in London.”
The Arsenal boss too dismissed all rumours saying that he was not too eager to sign yet another midfielder.
“There is nothing happening, honestly no. We don’t need to take players on the flanks – we have 17 players on the flanks,” Wenger said.
