Schalke midfielder Julian Draxler has not ruled out a transfer to the Premier League in the summer of 2014. And he fancies a move to North London to join Arsenal.
The 20-year-old has ruled out a move in the January transfer window but hinted at moving out of the Bundesliga club after the season.
“I have always said English teams are very big clubs and Arsenal is of course one of them,”
Draxler also spoke about Per Mertesacker and Mesut Ozil, his German team mates, both of whom play for Arsenal.
“Of course I sometimes speak to Mesut or Per about the team, about the club, and they always have good words and they tell me nice things.
“You never know what happens in the summer but Arsenal is a very, very nice team. They always have very young players, they play attractive football and that’s what I like.”‘
With the World Cup around the corner, Draxler does not want to leave Schalke in the winter transfer window.
“No way. I won’t switch then,” he said. “It’s very important for me to play nearly every game. For my club I have the chance to play nearly every game; it’s important for me to improve myself.
“I’ve said every summer I have to look what is the best for me and I will do in the summer again and we will see what happens.”
Draxler has 3 goals and 4 assists from 15 games for Schalke this season.
