The FIFA President Sepp Blatter is in fresh controversy after denying racism exists in football and saying that racial taunts should be just taken as part of the game. Talking to ‘CNN World Sport’ Blatter insisted that the players who are racially abused in the field must “say that this is a game”.
“I would deny it. There is no racism, there is maybe one of the players towards another, he has a word or a gesture which is not the correct one.
“We are in a game, and at the end of the game, we shake hands, and this can happen, because we have worked so hard against racism and discrimination.”
Meanwhile the FA has charged Luis Suarez following the incident happened with Patrice Evra during the Liverpool versus Manchester United fixture at Anfield last month. The French defender accused Suarez of racially abusing him.
“It is alleged that Suarez used abusive and/or insulting words and/or behaviour towards Manchester United’s Patrice Evra contrary to FA rules. It is further alleged that this included a reference to the ethnic origin and/or colour and/or race of Patrice Evra.” FA statement read.
While the Metropolitan Police has launched the investigation into the Anton Ferdinand-John Terry incident in the Chelsea v/s QPR match. The QPR defender has given evidence and John Terry has so far denied any racial abuse against Anton Ferdinand.
