Argentine striker Sergio Aguero’s father says that his son would love to move to Barcelona. The Spanish Daily AS also reports that the Catalan club has made a bid of £31m to sign the former Atletico Madrid striker from the current English Champions Manchester City.
Leonel del Castillo (Aguero’s father) said, "He would love to go to Barcelona but Manchester City will make it impossible."
New Barcelona coach Luis Enrique is also interested in luring the striker away from Manchester City and bring him to Barcelona, and is very keen to add the striker to his squad. Aguero has a good relationship with fellow Argentine Lionel Messi and Barcelona would hope that this factor helps them to sign the City ace and bring him to the Nou Camp.
Despite the speculations linking him to Barcelona, it is understood that Aguero is happy at Manchester City and is not looking for a move in the summer. Considering the role he played in City’s title winning campaign despite the various injuries he suffered it looks unlikely that Manuel Pellegrini will be willing to sell the striker.
Manchester City had signed Aguero from Atletico Madrid back in 2011 for €45m and since making his move to the Citizens he has scored 52 goals in the 87 League appearances he made. He has won two Premier League titles and an FA Community Shield since making his move to England from Spain.
