Sergio Aguero has confirmed that he wants to leave the Vicente Calderon this summer and has asked the club to listen to offers for him. The Argentine hitman had a meeting with club officials on Monday but went off without speaking to the media. But then he revealed his desire to leave the club on Twitter and his official website. On his personal website Aguero released a lengthy statement about why he wants to leave the club stressing that he wants out for sporting reasons and not for economic ones.
Aguero on his website:
“I said long ago that when I wanted to go, I would say publicly. And the time has come,So I keep my word and here I am. I find it hard to leave Atletico. It hurts and saddens me”.
Manchester City,Liverpool,Chelsea and Real Madrid are the teams reportedly interested in the striker who is also the son-in-law of Maradona.
Although Jose Mourinho wants to add another striker at the Bernabeu,a move across the Spanish capital would one of the most controversial in recent times.Aguero has once said that he will never play for teams starting with the letter ‘R’ in reference to Real Madrid and Racing the fiercest rivals to Atletico.Aguero has a 45 million Euros release clause and Madrid along with Manchester City are the few clubs who can afford him.
