WARSAW, POLAND – JUNE 16: Russian fans enjoy the atmosphere ahead of the UEFA EURO 2012 group A match between Greece and Russia at The National Stadium on June 16, 2012 in Warsaw, Poland.

Moscow, July 3 – Seven Russian football supporters remain in the custody of Polish police from the two dozen detained during Euro 2012 clashes in Poland last month, the head of the Russia fan club said Tuesday.

At least 162 Poles and 25 Russians were arrested after Polish hooligans attacked several thousand Russian supporters marching to celebrate a national holiday before the two sides played out a 1-1 draw on June 13.

“At the moment, seven detained fans remain in Poland,” Alexander Shurygin said. “One of those detained has health problems, so he’s been transferred to a jail that has medical facilities,” he added.

The Russian embassy in Warsaw Monday requested that city courts set dates as soon as possible for the appeal hearing of two Russians sentenced to several weeks in prison for their part in the clashes.
