The world’s most valuable sports team Manchester United will be benefited with their new signing Shinji Kagawa. Sir Alex Ferguson believes the signing of the Japanese Kagawa from Borussia Dortmund will be a huge success for The Red Devils this season and for the upcoming ones as well. Kagawa started his professional career in Japan with Cerezo Osaka before joining German club Borussia Dortmund in 2010. After having two successful years at Dortmund, Kagawa has joined Manchester United on a four-year contract.
This 23-year old Japanese international was the star performer for Borussia Dortmund last season and helped his club winning back-to-back Bundesliga titles. Sir Alex on signing Kagawa said, “Shinji is an exciting young midfielder with great skill, vision and a good eye for goal.” He further added that he is delighted that Kagawa chose to come to United.
The Japanese midfielder was the best midfielder in the German Bundesliga last season. No other midfielder in the Bundesliga was involved in more top flight goals than Kagawa. In the second half of the season, Kagawa alone registered nine goals and four assists for his team. In total, he had scored 16 goals for the season for Dortmund. He even scored against Arsenal earlier this season in the Champions League, giving Arsenal fans a glimpse of his calibre. Shinji, having started his career with Cerezo Osaka, has scored 57 goals in his 127 appearances for the club. For Borussia Dortmund, he made a total of 71 appearances and scored 29 priceless goals for the German club.
Kagawa, after becoming a Manchester United player officialy on 22 June, revealed his excitement for playing for the world’s most valuable sports team. He stated that it is a challenge for him and he is really looking forward to meet the team and start playing alongside Rooney, Giggs, Hernandez, Ferdinand, Vidic and other superstars. He touted The Premier League to be the best league in the world and Manchester United is a massive club to play with.
On July 18 2012, Kagawa made his first appearance for the Red devils with a two-minute appearance to mark his Manchester United debut in Durban against AmaZulu in a pre-season friendly match. However, Kagawa made his first start for his new club against Ajax Cape Town in a pre-season friendly match on 21 July 2012. Shinji Kagawa has made 33 international appearances for Japan and have scored 11 goals for his country. This young footballer will own the Jersey No. 26 while playing for Man U and all the fans out there would be hoping him to bring back the Premier League title back to Old Trafford. After the South Korean, Park Ji Sung left for QPR, Kagawa, another Asian footballer would be gunning to prove his mettle to the entire world.
So with his acclimation period speeding up thanks to the dismaying British summer time, all signs point to a successful year ahead of Kagawa.The worldwide Manchester United fans would be hoping Kagawa to have a much longer and very successful period with the Red Devils.
