Since Christmas, Manchester United have taken the Premier League by storm with 6 wins in a row. While they have started scoring more goals recently, their defence has also been sorted to an extent. The main reason for the success of the team has been the form of Marcus Rashford.
Marcus Rashford has now completed 150 appearances for the team and is already drawing comparisons with the likes of Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo. His impact on the team has been enormous and Rashford looks set to be the future main striker at Manchester United. His sudden rise of form will affect the other forwards in the team and Romelu Lukaku will be a notable casualty.
Lukaku's game-time has already dropped and he has mainly been used as a substitute in recent games. Although he has made an impact, a lot more is expected from a player of Lukaku's calibre. After a wonderful World Cup, Lukaku has failed to emulate his success with the Belgian team in Manchester United colours. Compared to the previous season, his performance has been underwhelming and Lukaku needs to get back on track.
It is unlikely that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would play both Rashford and Lukaku together in the starting XI and considering the current form, the Belgian is more likely to sit out. Hence, Lukaku should start looking for a move away from Manchester United to bring his career back on track.
Lukaku is still a potent force in the market and a number of clubs could get in line to sign the Belgian striker. Clubs like Juventus and Real Madrid may look to buy a genuine striker in the next season and hence, Lukaku will have no problems in finding a club similar to that Manchester United's popularity.
