Paris Saint-Germain defender Thiago Silva is urging his club to bring in Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney this summer transfer window.
Rooney, who has had a frustrating and slightly disappointing season with the United, has drawn interests from a number of European clubs, including PSG and Arsenal.
The Selecao captain believes that Rooney will be a fine addition to team and should be roped in, and hence is encouraging his club to do the needful.
“I love this player. Whenever I have played against him he has scored,” Silva said. “I would really like Rooney to sign for PSG. This would be a reinforcement of quality for us.”
During last week’s 2-2 friendly between Brazil and England, Silva was assigned to the task of containing Rooney.
Silva’s future with PSG is also at crossroads as he has been allegedly linked with a move to Barcelona.
But Silva dismissed the rumours and was quoted as saying: “This is something that occurs at each transfer window,” he said. “I am under contract at PSG [until 2017] and I hope to go after this contract.”
