#4 United monitoring £30m Tottenham Right back
The Daily Mail reports that Manchester United are currently monitoring Tottenham's English right back Kieran Trippier. Solskjaer is reportedly on the look out for a new right back, as he prepares to bolster his squad ahead of the new season. Antonio Valencia has left the club and Darmian and Young have both failed to impress the Norwegian. That leaves United with only young Dalot for the right back position
Solskjaer had already identified Aaron Wan-Bissaka of Crystal Palace as his first priority for the position. However, United have been stunned by Palace's evaluation of the Englishman and are reportedly looking at cheaper alternatives. And Trippier was one of the options that the Red Devils were considering. But United now fear that they will be priced out of a move for the Tottenham Right back by club Chairman Daniel Levy, who has a reputation of being a shrewd negotiator.
Reports say that Levy wants more than £30m for the 28 year old, a price that United are unwilling to pay. We revealed in this segment yesterday that PSG right back Thomas Meunier is very close to becoming Solskjaer's first signing of the summer, so United might not be tempted to fall for Levy's negotiations in the Trippier deal.
