#2 Raul Albiol
Raul Albiol was part of the Spain squad during their most successful times, but he did not play many times during the crucial matches as more experienced defenders like Puyol were preferred. Albiol is best known for his time at Real Madrid but during the 2008 Euros, he was actually an integral part of the Valencia side.
Following his good displays, he made a move to Real Madrid where he struggled to nail down a regular starting berth although he did play in some crucial matches.
In 2013, he was transferred to Napoli where he is putting in some solid defensive displays. The 30-year-old Spanish defender will be hoping to make the 2016 Euros squad.
