La liga witnessed last night, five matches of exciting football. A high number of todays games ended in draws which is unusual. This said, here is a brief summary of the all encounters, the results and the scorers.

Villarreal managed to squeeze a 2 – 2 draw from Real Zaragoza in an entertaining match of Football. Real Zaragoza got ahead first after dominating play with a goal from Luis Garcia in the 34th min. Villarreal reacted and equalized via Rossi converting a penalty in the 41st min, to which Zaragoza cancelled out 4 mins later with a goal from Barrera.
The second half was intense with a red card to Lazaro (Zaragoza) in the 80th min, & Villarreal finally managed the equalizer in the 81st min via Hernan Perez. I say finally because Zaragoza goalie Roberto stopped everything kicked / headed at him to keep his team within the points.

Racing De Satander managed a comeback to draw 1 – 1 with Rayo Vallecano. Rayo got ahead in the 20th min via Raul Tamudo & Racing equalized via Adrian in the 59th min.

| Raul Garcia scores for Osasuna |
Osasuna drew 2 – 2 with Real Mallorca in an intense game between two teams needing to get some classification points. There was a red card to Nsue of Mallorca in the 72th min which highlighted the intensity.
Real Mallorca got ahead via a penalty in the 33rd min converted by Hemed. Osasuna reacted with Raul Garcia scoring two goals in the 46th & 58th min to give his team the advantage. However, Mallorca equalized via a Penalty ( again) which Hemed scored ( again) in the 79th min.

| Canales scores for Valencia CF |
Valencia CF managed a very important confidence boosting 1 – 0 win over Granada. The winning goal came from young Sergio Canales ( ex Real Madrid) who scored in the 3rd min from a Piatti pass. The young player is slowly finding his game, securing a starting place and adding value to the Valencia team.
Deserved victory as Valencia played better and could have scored more.

| Malaga-Getafe |
Hard fought 6 spectacular victory for Malaga 3 - 2 over the visitors Getafe. The real action all happened in the 2nd half with Getafe player Pedro Leon scoring a blinder in the 55th min, that was answered by Malaga in the 64th min with a crafty Van Nistelrooy equalizer.
The intensity grew more and Getafe got themselves ahead again in the 75th min via Miku in what looked like a hand-ball. The verbal ruckus that followed earned Getafe player Lacen a red card for falling into a Demichelis ( Malaga defender) trap. The good stuff was yet to come.
Getafe down to 10 men, Malaga player Maresca scored to equalize in the 88th min and then the magic, Malaga Brazilian player Baptista scored a superb overhead goal in the 92th min that blew the roof off the stadium. A true winner!
Malaga find themselves tonight , with 5 games of La Liga left to be played tomorrow, as Spanish Football League classification leaders.
