Rio de Janeiro, Dec 29 (IANS) Portuguese football club Sporting Lisbon are considering a move for Brazilian defender Leo in the January transfer window.
The 26-year-old was a key member of the Cruzeiro side that won their second consecutive Brazilian Serie A title this year, reports Xinhua.
Sporting manager Marco Silva sees Leo as an ideal candidate to bolster his team's meagre central defensive options, according to ESPN Brasil.
Leo is not the only Cruzeiro player being sought by rival clubs.
Playmaker Lucas Silva has been linked to Real Madrid and Arsenal while fellow midfielder Nilton is reportedly being sought by Brazil's Internacional.
