Sportskeeda Fantasy Football Premier League: Scout report (Gameweek 5)

Phillippe Coutinho

Phillippe Coutinho

Hope you guys are enjoying this beautiful platform presented to us by Sportskeeda. “Sportskeeda Fantasy Football Premier League” has already become a huge hit, given that this is the very first edition. I am a fantasy football freak and have been playing for the past few years.

What I like about the Sportskeeda’s edition of the game is it’s simplicity of rules. You won’t face any problems even if you are just a noob.

I will use my experience to help you move smoothly through the game. But remember that I will give many advices but which one is suitable for your team needs to be decided by you only.

Let us start with the players you should avoid for the upcoming game week:

1) Phillippe Coutinho - He is expected to be one of this season’s brightest stars but shoulder injury seems to have posed a great challenge for him. His return date is unknown.

2) David Silva – The star of City’s mid-field was in good form before sustaining thigh injury last week. He is expected back on 22nd September.

3) Santiago Cazorla – He is suffering from an ankle injury and is expected back on 28th September.

4) Glen Johnson – The Liverpool back is also suffering from an ankle injury and is expected back on 19 October.

Players you should sell immediately, if you have them in your team :-

1) Try not to include the Chelsea trio of Lampard, Mata and Oscar until and unless you become fully aware of Mourinho’s tactics. Only Hazard and Ramires have played each and every minutes before this week. But their forms are not impressive. So it is better to avoid them.

2) Don’t take risks with players like Lukaku(EVE), Dzeko(MANC), Anelka(WBA), Lambert(SOU), Bony(SWA) and Soldado(TOT). They are not in the best of their forms and will hardly score.

3) Other players who should be avoided are David Luiz(CHE), Mertesacker(ARS), Snodgrass(NOR), Wilshere (ARS) and Walcott(ARS).

Risks worth taking – Some players who have already showed their worth in this young season and are expected to take this league by storm are Barkley, Coleman ( both from EVE), Ramsey (ARS), Ben Arfa (NEW), Nolan (WHU), Hernández (SWA) and Fonte (SOU).

Ideal First XI for GW 5 :-

Benteke (AST), Sturridge(LIV) and Giroud(ARS) is the best combination of forwards you can get, each having scored 4 goals in as many matches and are expected to continue the same form going into this week. Looks like Shelvey(SWA) and Ben Arfa(NEW) are slowly but surely regaining their goal scoring habits and are expected to score some points against Crystal Palace and Hull City respectively. Much is expected from Nolan(WHU) and I think he will be able to fulfill them in the upcoming game week. Ramsey(ARS) is perhaps in the best form of his life and can be threatening with the support of Ozil. Dawson(TOT), Ivanovic(CHE) and Mingolet(LIV) are expected to keep clean sheets and Coleman(EVE) can account for an assist or two.

Choice for Captain :-

If you have the assist machine Mesut Ozil(ARS) in your team then you don’t need to look beyond him. His first goal for Arsenal may also come against Stoke City. Benteke (AST) can also be made the captain. With the likes of Robin van Persie(MANU) facing difficult games, Benteke can be the right choice against the Canaries.

Hope this helps. I will be sharing my views every week henceforth. If you have any queries about your team, you can ask them below. You can also send me a screenshot of your team to [email protected]. I will try my best to help you and your team. But remember, your own dedication and passion can make you a successful fantasy football league manager.
