It’s that time of the week again when you can pitch your predictions for the upcoming game week, calculate your score and compare yours against ours. The rules, as always, remain the same, +3 for a correct score, + 1 for a correct result, 0 for a wrong result
P. S. Apologies for missing a few gameweeks in between, due to unavoidable circumstances.

Here are our predictions, what are yours? (all timings in IST )
Aston Villa | v | Everton |
Prediction: 2 – 1 (14 Jan, 2030 hrs)
It’s past the halfway mark in the season, and neither team is doing as well as one would have expected of them to. Everton really seem to be disappointing. When your goal keeper scores a goal for you, you know you really need to buy a striker. But funds are not available to Moyes. Villa fans haven’t warmed up to McLeish yet. This match will also be overshadowed by the additions of Keane and Donovan. Difficult to predict, hence will safely go for a narrow home win.
Blackburn | v | Fulham |
Prediction: 2- 1 (14 Jan, 2030 hrs)
Fulham’s win over Arsenal last week, especially after being a goal down till the 82nd minute, should really lift their morale. Blackburn are having a terrible time, but they have recently managed to get surprising results against Liverpool and United. Difficult to predict which Blackburn will turn up for the game, and how their captain Samba will cope with the transfer rumors surrounding him. For Kean’s sake, hoping Blackburn nick a win here.
Chelsea | v | Sunderland |
Prediction: 2 – 1 (14 Jan, 2030 hrs)
Martin o Neil’s revival of Sunderland has been nothing short of a miracle, he was rightly awarded the manager of the month in December, and it is certainly a pleasure to have him back in the Premiership. You can see how the team has quickly embodied his fighting spirit till the very end, and he is a genius at motivation and man management. However getting something at the Bridge may be difficult even for him.
Liverpool | v | Stoke City |
Prediction: 2 – 0 (14 Jan, 2030 hrs)
The reverse fixture at the start of the season still irks Liverpool fans, but they should be able to manage an easy win here. With Steven Gerrard back to full fitness, and having just signed a new long term contract, fans have a lot to look forward to, after a torrid couple of months. The away victory at the Etihad in midweek means that they have a foot in the Carling Cup final.
Man Utd | v | Bolton |
Prediction: 3 – 1 (14 Jan, 2030 hrs)
United have to bounce back after a thrashing at the hands of Newcastle last week, and what’s a better opportunity than against a team placed 19th at Old Trafford. While Bolton will be without his most influential defender, a routine win for United seems on the cards.
Tottenham | v | Wolves |
Prediction: 3 – 0 (14 Jan, 2030 hrs)
So Spurs are being acknowledged as the title contenders now after comfortably winning their one match in hand, and playing some beautiful football, which is pleasing to a neutral’s eye. It will be interesting to see how long Spurs can cope up with the pressures from the Manchester clubs. Nevertheless, winning this match shouldn’t be a problem.
West Brom | v | Norwich |
Prediction: 1- 1 (14Jan, 2030 hrs)
Voted best manager of the year 2011 in England, Paul Lambert has done a wonderful job with the Canaries. It seems obvious that Norwich will be comfortably safe at the end of the season, and this is a very tough match to predict. Hopefully we will see free flowing and attacking football from both sides, with Holt, Morrison, Long and Odemwienge, it shouldn’t be difficult.
Newcastle | v | QPR |
Prediction: 1 – 2 (15 Jan, 1900 hrs)
So now we finally get to see how the Magpies will cope without Tiote and Demba Ba, it doesn’t look too bright for them. The Rangers will play their first match under new manager Hughes. Hughes though a good manager, lost a lot of goodwill after quitting the Fulham job in search for a more ambitious club. But it’s his first match at a new club, and I see them upsetting Newcastle at St. James’s Park.
Swansea | v | Arsenal |
Prediction: 1 – 1 (15 Jan, 2130 hrs)
Since his goal against Leeds, the Arsenal faithful cannot stop talking about Thierry Henry. It did turn out to be a scripted dream return for Henry at a club where the fans literally worship his statue. But travelling to the Liberty stadium in Wales will not be easy. Difficult to see how Arsenal snatch more than a point here, especially after their hugely disappointing performance against Fulham.
Wigan | v | Man City |
Prediction: 1- 3 (17 Jan, 0130 hrs)
City have won only one of their past five matches, and have hit some sort of a slump, with Toure brothers off for the ACN, and Kompany suspended, the squad depth really matters now. A tough time for City, and they just have to win this one, otherwise things will get very tough fro Mancini and his boys. The reliance on Silva may become even more apparent.
