Welcome to our latest section on transfer news. Over the last few days, we’ve been analyzing some of the biggest transfer rumours doing the rounds. We’ve been constantly looking out for the most accurate transfer information in the newspapers and websites.
Today, we talk about the future of Anderson Talisca, Alexandre Lacazette, and Diego Costa. We have done an in-depth analysis on the English Premier League transfer rumours of 25th July.
Anderson Talisca to Liverpool
Reports in the Portuguese media suggest Liverpool are interested in signing Benfica star Talisca. According to O Jogo, Liverpool have agreed a fee of €25m for Talisca with Benfica, and are now waiting for the approval of his work permit.
Experts say: Portuguese media have been repeatedly running this story in the past few days, but Liverpool based journalists have dismissed the rumours.
Our take: It’s a bit unlikely Liverpool would want to sign Talisca, as they’ve plenty of attacking options already at the club. Talisca is also unproven, and it wouldn’t make sense if Liverpool would agree to pay €25m for him. We really doubt there is anything concrete in this.
Chances of it happening: 2/10
Alexandre Lacazette to Arsenal
It’s no secret Arsenal are looking to sign a striker this summer, and reports have linked them with a move for French star Alexandre Lacazette. However, Ligue 1 club Lyon have released a statement claiming they’ve rejected a €35m for Lacazette.
Experts say: Arsenal have been repeatedly linked to Lacazette by the French media, but at the moment nobody knows if it’s going to happen.
Our take: Arsenal are definitely looking to sign a striker this summer, but must break the bank if they want to sign Lacazette. Lyon have made it clear they want to keep Lacazette at the club, after qualifying for the Champions League. Arsenal might have to bid something close to €50m to open negotiations with Lyon, and the Gunners can definitely do that if they are genuinely interested in signing him.
Chances of it happening: 6/10
Diego Costa to Atletico Madrid
Reports in the Spanish media have linked Diego Costa with a return to Atletico Madrid. The La Liga side are looking to sign a striker and could wait for another couple of weeks for Costa, claim Marca
Experts say: Spanish media just can’t let this rumour go away, and have been publishing reports about Costa’s return to Atletico Madrid since January.
Our take: We’ve mentioned it before, it’s a bit unlikely Chelsea would want to sell the only established striker at the club. Selling Costa won’t make any sense, even if they sign another striker. Costa picked up his form towards the second half of last season, and is still one of the top strikers in the Premier League.
Chances of it happening: 3/10
