Spurs fans assaulted in Rome ahead of Lazio game

Tottenham Hotspur fans have been attacked early this morning, as reported by Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper.

The attacking mob had with their faces covered with helmets and were later found to be the ultras of Lazio.

Nine English and a national of the United States were injured, seven have been hospitalized, one with a guarded prognosis for a head injury.

It is also reported that Lazio fans were armed with knives, baseball bats, and knuckle dusters.

Ten were left wounded with two stabbed, one of whom was believed to be critically ill.
