#3 75% of last season's total minutes played already
In the 2016/17 season, obituaries were being written about the then Manchester United captain who made only 25 appearances in the league and played 1538 minutes.
The Red Devils let their all-time scorer leave the club and it looked like Wayne Rooney's days as a regular starter for a decent sized club was over.
Fans from all corners, including Everton supporters, felt that Rooney would not be able to play much and was ineffective on the pitch at his current age.
The result though is that Rooney has clocked up 15 appearances in 17 games this season and has played 1156 matches, a little over 75% of the time he managed in the entirety of last season. That shows the fans and pundits that Rooney still has it in him to start every game and influence proceedings.
