The 2013/14 transfer window was full of surprises. It all started with Brazilian star Neymar joining Barcelona, who successfully completed the forward’s signing by tipping their arch-rival Real Madrid. They too were in the race to sign Neymar. Another South American, Radamel Falcao, left Atletico Madrid to join newly formed French powerhouse AS Monaco.
But if we consider the most hyped transfer of the summer, it will surely be Gareth Bale‘s move from London to Madrid (Tottenham-Real Madrid). Madrid paid £85.3 million (a world record fee) to sign Bale.
