Chelsea have been offered a cut-price deal for Bayer Leverkusen’s Stefan Kiessling as the German international decides to move to the greener pastures of the Premier League.
Kiessling is determined to leave Leverkusen at the end of the season especially after seeing a dream switch to West Ham busted in January, and is believed to have gone all-out to make sure he gets his wish i.e. a move to England the next season.
According to reports in Germany, Kiessling has asked his agent to offer his services to host of Premier League clubs, and Chelsea are believed to be the first in the race, with the 29-year-old especially keen to play in London based club.
The Blues have their own Achilles heel Fernando Torres. Meanwhile Demba Ba is not yet acclimatized, and Kiessling, standing at 6’3″, would be an excellent addition to their current bare cupboard of strikers.
Kiessling, who has scored 119 goals in 339 matches, has told friends he wants a new challenge for next season after spending seven years at Bayer Leverkusen.
It is thought that Leverkusen is also keen to part ways with Kiessling and would accept anything in the region of £6million.
Dynamo Kiev and Leverkusen’s Bundesliga rivals Borussia Dortmund are also keen for Kiessling’s signature.
