With rumour mills running wild with speculation over Stevan Jovetic’s move to Arsenal, the player has come forward and hinted at his interest in the transfer.
“I’ve heard about Arsenal’s interest,” Jovetic told The Sun. “It’s a big pleasure for me to be on the radar of such a big club. I am happy about that.”
The Fiorentina man also talked about the Arsenal side, emphasising the massive impact of the loss of Robin Van Persie.
“It’s not easy to replace [Robin] van Persie, who scored a lot of goals. Arsenal have plenty of players who don’t score like Van Persie, but are also very good.”
The Montenegro star, who has been enjoying a rich vein of form recently, went on to say that he hopes to play in Arsenal colours one day, but was quick to add that his priority was Champions League qualification for Fiorentina this season.
“Maybe one day I will play there but I have a contract with Fiorentina and battling for a Champions League place in Serie A is the only thing I’m thinking about now.”
