Uruguay striker Luis Suarez, who scored two dramatic goals in the thriller in the match against England, was quick to offer consolation to his Liverpool colleague, Steven Gerrard.

"This is an unlucky moment for him," explained the forward.

"I don't like it when he hurts like this."

Immediately after scoring his second goal and induldging a short-lived celebration, Suarez made his way to Gerrard.

“I said to him ‘Keep going, forget this game, you're one of the best.’”

“He is the best player I have ever played with”.

Suarez’s powerful finish after poor-defending from the Englishmen resulted in the scoring of the crucial, winning goal.

"I had to keep calm, keep my cool and when I got the ball I just kicked it with my whole heart, thinking of all those who have supported me” said the South American forward.

"It has been like a dream. It is something I have dreamt about very often. It was one of the best games I've played. It's an amazing moment for me. Maybe a few days ago I thought this wouldn't be possible."
