After spending a season on loan at The Britannia Stadium, Mark Hughes is looking at bringing the Oussama Assaidi back, but this time on a permanent deal, according to reports.
The Moroccan seemed to have finally found his feet in English football during his spell with the Potter last year. In 25 appearances for Stoke, Assaidi produced 5 goals which helped them to a comfortable ninth place finish in the EPL.
The departures of Matty Etherington, Jermaine Pennant and Michael Kightly meant that Stoke were on the lookout for players who can play out wide.
With Assaidi impressing upon Hughes with his play on the wings, Stoke have wanted to bring the Moroccan back, but were met with what they considered ‘exorbitant’ price demands from Liverpool.
Now it seems that the two sides seemed to have agreed upon a deal £4.5m which could eventually rise to £7m.
If Stoke are successful in the capture of the ex- Heerenveen winger, it will represent their fifth signing of the summer, following the arrival of striker Mame Biram Diouf, midfielder Steve Sidwell, and defenders Phil Bardsley and Dionatan Teixeira.
