15th April, 2015: Eric Benny Sports Management along with brand ambassador Sunil Chhetri invites players in the U-14, U-16 and U-18 categories to be scouted for professional football trials in France and Germany.
The Mumbai leg will be held on Saturday, 18th April’ 15 at Indian Football School, Cooperage in Colaba, Mumbai. while the Chennai leg will be held on Saturday, the 25th April’ 15 at Netz Football, Chennai Citi Center in Mylapore, Chennai.
This initiative by Eric Benny is focused on the unique relationship with the French and German Embassy here in India as well as the partnership with FC Metz, France and Deutsches Football International, Germany.
This is a time-tested association of 4 years when it all began in Delhi-NCR with Eric Benny envisaging a career for young Indians talented in football.
The mission of this initiative travelling from state to state within a country of over 1.2 billion people is to identify talent at the grassroots level and thereafter what needs to be done in terms of grooming, training, ranking, selecting the top children, before placing them in a world-class football academy like FC Metz in France and Deutsches Football International in Germany.
“I am a bit jealous looking at the facilities and coaching staff these boys have access to. Professional clubs let alone academies in India are yet to provide such world-class facilities,” says Sunil Chhetri, Brand ambassador for Eric Benny Sports Management (4-time AIFF Player of the Year and Captain, Bengaluru Football Club).
He also mentioned “unless the teacher is good to teach the right way at the right age, and players learn to simultaneously work smart and work hard, only then can there be improvement, else a fiasco.”
