Swindon vs Chelsea 2013: Team news and possible line-ups

Jose Mourinho

Jose Mourinho took the League Cup very seriously during his first spell as the Chelsea manager. It seems that it has not changed because the Portuguese is expected to name a strong starting line-up for the third-round match against Swindon Town. Unlike in the past, this will not be an easy encounter against a lower league opposition at Stamford Bridge.

Mourinho hinted that the starting line-up is set to be full of world-class internationals like Fernando Torres and Juan Mata; players who did not take part in the 2-0 win over Fulham.

Playing at their home (County Ground) will be a massive boost for Swindon, and Chelsea are unlikely to underestimate their threat.

Assistant coach Steve Holland said that there was an opportunity for a young player to be involved. After having just returned from a successful loan spell, 20-year-old defender Tomas Kalas is likely to be used at centre back. Even with all the rotation, Chelsea’s team could be mightily impressive.

What will be your starting line-up?
