The final three gameweeks are upon us and teams are vying to complete the various goals set for themselves at the beginning of the season. Some teams have flattered to deceive while some are on the brink of accomplishing those goals. Who will see the season out on a high note?
7:30 AM – Tornadoes FC v Rangers FC
The opening match of GW 9 has promotion hopefuls Tornadoes FC taking on Rangers FC. Tornadoes put in a complete performance last week to pick up all three points against Kammanhattan and will need to continue building on that performance if they are finish in the top three.
Rangers have still not managed to turn things around and lie in the red zone. They aren’t playing for much but a couple of wins to finish the season off will set the tone for them for next season. Tornadoes go in as favourites but Rangers do have the talent to cause an upset.
Crystal Ball: Tornadoes FC 3–1 Rangers FC
8:45 AM – Pegasus FC v Can-a-bees FC
The second game of the day has the bottom two taking on each other when Pegasus and Can-a-bees face off. Pegasus have added some good players in the mid-season window and if there was ever a time to pick up a win, this week would be it.
Can-a-bees haven’t won since the opening day and although their performances haven’t been too bad, the results just haven’t fallen their way. Whoever wins the game will have a chance to get out of the red zone come the end of the season while a draw would prove useless for either.
Crystal Ball: Pegasus FC 2–3 Can-a-bees FC
10:00 AM – Royal Eagles FC v Simba Sports FC
Next up, Royal Eagles are tasked with stopping the brute force that is Simba Sports. Royal Eagles are safe from the depths of the red zone but their performance last week against United 4th was lacklustre and they ended up conceding 7 goals.
Simba finally ended up dropping points against Dragons in GW 7 and with BCFC only one point behind them they can't afford to lose any more points. Royal Eagles need to be smart about their strategy and hope to hold off Simba in the first half, which could be their only way of getting something from this game.
Crystal Ball: Royal Eagles FC 1–4 Simba Sports FC
11:15 AM – The Aces v United 4th Phase FC
The fourth game of the day has Aces taking on United 4th Phase. Aces lost back-to-back games and are now in the bottom half of the table again. United 4th Phase find themselves in the top three with only three gameweeks to go, which means their chances of promotion are in their hands.
Win all the games and they see themselves promoted while dropping points could prove costly with the three teams behind them eyeing to close the gap. United 4th should have an easy game out given their current form but if Aces how up with their full strength anything could happen.
Crystal Ball: The Aces 0–2 United 4th Phase FC
12:30 PM – Brothers United v Kammanhattan All Stars
The penultimate game of the day has Brothers United taking on Kammanhattan All Stars. Brothers ended up on the winning side of a 5-goal thriller against Rangers last week to propel them up into mid-table safety.
Kammanhattan flattered to deceive against Tornadoes FC and lost out a golden chance at the title. They now need to turn their attention to the promotion race rather than the title challenge with their big game coming up against promotion hopefuls United 4th Phase FC on the final day.
Crystal Ball: Brothers United 2–2 Kammanhattan All Stars
2:00 PM – Dragons AFC v Bangalore City FC B
The best is saved for the last and we wrap up things with the headliner of the day when Dragons AFC take on Bangalore City FC B. Dragons have been on an impressive run of five games which has seen them concede no goals. They also have a potent attacking force as seen by their last game when they scored 14 goals past Pegasus.
BCFC benefitted from the Dragons' fine form during which Simba dropped points but they now come up against the team in form. If BCFC drop points, the title will head to Simba, so this could be the most important game of the season for them. We expect a high-intensity affair with BCFC having the slightest of advantages.
Crystal Ball: Dragons AFC 0–1 Bangalore City FC B
