With the season just past its midway mark, teams are vying for various honours from titles to highest goal scorers to staying away from the red zone. A big part of the final stretch is for individuals to up their games and standout but more importantly ensure their teams get to where they want to.
Let’s have a look at the players who have been impacting the league over the past two weeks.
Divyansh Narang (Q Squad)
The No. 1 for Q Squad has slowly become the brightest shining star in a squad filled with immensely talented players. He has kept 4 clean sheets so far and has conceded the fewest number of goals amongst the goalkeepers in the league. He has excellent reflexes and is a great penalty stopper too. He is also comfortable with the ball at his feet making him an all-round keeper. He is one of the leading candidates for the Golden Glove Award.
Cologne K (FC Kickers)
He scored 5 goals in his previous 3 outings and is a lethal finisher. His team still has an outside shot at the title while a top 3 finish is not out of the question, which means Cologne has a big role to play in the coming weeks.
His imposing height makes him a perfect target for crosses, which has also defined his team's gameplay. His solo goal last week against Phoenix where he dribbled past a couple of defenders and sent a powerful shot past the keeper shows that he is not a one-trick pony.
Ashish Tehlan (Wishwakings)
He is the top goal scorer for Wishwakings with 6 goals in as many games. Although he is right footed he can play on either flank. He has proved to the be the go-to guy for Wishwakings recently, which has seen them rise into the top three for the first time this season.
His pace and agility make him a perfect winger but his eye for goal means he can play across any of the forward three positions. He needs to bring his ‘A’ game every match from now on if his side are to have a chance at finishing in the top two.
Rahul Gulia (Sen Q)
Gulia’s impact on his team makes him a contender for the MVP award this season. He has been their most consistent performer this season and still has a big role to play if his side are to sneak into the top three. He had a big game last week when his side upset Q Squad and scored a wonderful free kick from 35 yards out.
This is the third time this season that he has scored off a long-range free kick. When he scores, he always features in the Top 5 Goals of the week, which reflects on the immense talent he possesses.
Aditya Chopra (Storm Youth)
The 17-year-old wonder kid has shown he can do it all this season. Although the statistics may not seem overly impressive, it’s what he does on the pitch that makes him stand out. He is an attacking midfielder who can hold up the ball but also dribble his way out of tight situations. He also has a keen eye for a pass, which includes long-range passing. His ability to take free kicks for his side comes handy with him possessing a good shot. Being only 17, he has a long way to go and can become one of NCR’s best footballers.
