The Indian national football team will defend their title at the South Asian Football Federation Championships (SAFF Cup) in Kathmandu, Nepal from September 1 to 11.

The preparatory camp will be held in Bangalore from August 16 onwards. Team India play an international friendly on August 14 away to Tajikistan in Khujand, for which the dates of the camp have not been announced just yet, while on their return the team will start its preparations to defend their South Asian crown.

India coach Wim Koevermans has named a 30-player probable squad for the Tajikistan friendly and it is currently not known, if he will retain the same set of players for the SAFF Cup.

The camp in Bangalore is set to be held at the Bangalore Football Stadium with the duration of the camp set to be of 10 days before Team India flies across to Kathmandu for their final preparation ahead of the tournament.

In Kathmandu, India would like to break the jinx of never winning the SAFF Championship title under a foreign coach.
