The Indian national football team, on their return from Tajikistan, has been training since Saturday, August 17 at the Bangalore Football Stadium in preparations for the upcoming SAFF Championship in Nepal, but not all things have been going as per plans for coach Wim Koevermans.
First an injured left-back Gurjinder Kumar Singh, who missed the Tajikistan friendly due to injury, was replaced by Nallappan Mohanraj, but then three more players had to be released from the camp due to different reasons on Sunday.

Right-back Denzil Franco had to be released for an injury he suffered against Tajikistan, while Karma Tsewang (Salgaocar FC) and Mohammed Rafique (United SC) had to be released for not possessing a passport which one needs as part of tournament registration.
With the time to register new players over, Koevermans will now have to work with the 27 players present at the camp and select his final 20 players squad from this lot to defend India’s title in the SAFF Championship.
