Team-mate reveals Radamel Falcao's dreams of playing for Real Madrid next season

Radamel Falcao: Envisioning a return to Madrid?

Speculation surrounding Real Madrid and Chelsea target Radamel Falcao continues its upward trajectory after quotes emerged to seemingly confirm the rumours that the Colombian’s preferred destination is, indeed, the Spanish capital.

Falcao joined Monaco from Atletico Madrid for a fee of around £50 million after having scored 28 goals during the 2012/13 campaign, and had netted 9 over 17 appearances for the Ligue 1 club before damaging his anterior cruciate ligament in January during a cup game.

The incident saw his season ended and even ruled him out of the World Cup, though Falcao himself insists the reasoning behind his omission from Los Cafeteros’ 23-man squad was due to a lack of match fitness rather than any long-term effects from the knee injury.

“Today, I’m in very good shape but conscious that I still need a bit (more time) to play again and I didn’t want to deny a place to a team mate who was 100 per cent fit, nor do something imprudent to damage my health,” Falcao explained.

And now, according to Spanish new outlet AS, one of the Monaco striker’s Colombian team-mates insists the player will pay mind to offers from Real Madrid only.

“Falcao thinks he’s going to join Real Madrid this summer. He dreams of playing there, and is only prepared to listen to offers from Los Blancos,” revealed the unnamed team-mate.

The news may come as a let-down to Blues fans, after quotes made by in February by Jose Mourinho, who suggested that Chelsea and Falcao need each other.
