According to John Terry, to be able to put forth a strong challenge against Manchester City, Chelsea needs to be better than themselves on Sunday by making a significant improvement in their form.
The Blues are not only looking to secure a spot in the top four, but are keen on setting the trap for second with a difference of just four points between the two teams. While City haven’t had a single win in three Premier League outings, they are set to challenge Chelsea to the brim for the second spot.
Therefore, it becomes essential that Chelsea up their game and make serious impact on their otherwise poor form. Chelsea’s performance in the last few weeks has not been good enough, Terry says:
“Everyone is beating each other this year. It’s a strange one. Manchester United always plug out results. It’s credit to them to do it season after season with the squad they’ve got as well. That’s the level we all want to be at. We’ve not had the best of seasons but we’re still in the mix. If we can improve our form 15-20 per cent, we’ll certainly can give Manchester City a run for sure.”
Terry believes that Chelsea is a team that can still emerge victorious, despite what others say:
“Some say we’ve had a bad season, but we can still easily get second. We’ve got a tough game away to Man City. If we can go on a run that we’re more than capable of – we’ve go the two boys (Victor Moses and John Mikel Obi) back from the African Nations now, we’ve got everybody fit again which is great, everyone fighting for places – we’ve got a real good chance.”
