#7 Saul Niguez (Atletico Madrid)- £81.4 million
Saul is one of a number of excellent young players who have come through Atletico Madrid’s academy in recent years. While many have moved on to bigger, and perhaps better, things, Saul has pledged his future to the club by signing a long term contract that runs out in 2026.
The Spanish midfielder broke onto the scene in 2016, scoring a brilliant individual goal against Bayern Munich in the Champions League semi-final, as Atletico progressed, only to lose in the final to their city rivals Real Madrid. He has also begun to make a mark in the Spanish national side under new manager Luis Enrique, and started, and scored in, wins over England and Croatia in the UEFA Nations League.
