Klopp cost Mourinho his job by winning convincingly at Anfield
One of the biggest rivalries of football, the away leg defeat at the hands of Jurgen Klopp's men cost Jose Mourinho his job. It was the final straw for the Portuguese whose jarred tactics did more harm to United than good and allowed their rivals to steal a march on them. While catching them is almost impossible - they are 16 points ahead of United right now, there's nothing more Solskjaer would love than to put a dent in Liverpool's title march.

The Norwegian is no stranger to the hostility between the two clubs and he would hate to be the manager under whose watch Liverpool took the first step towards regain the porch. As such, Solskjaer will be motivated to get a positive result at home, but it won't be easy.
Liverpool have lost just 1 game in the league so far and have conceded just 10 in the 22 games played. They have scored 6 more goals than United and their attackers will require some stopping.
But Solskjaer has proven so far that he is up for a challenge and his handling of the United squad has unleashed the attacking talents at Old Trafford. As such, the Norwegian will be relishing this tie, this battle which will be the biggest test of his managerial career. A positive result early in February will be satisfying as well as brilliant for Solskjaer's chances of achieving his targets this season.

Inspired by Diego Maradona, Deepungsu played as an attacking midfielder for his local club at subdivision level in his initial years and scored an important goal or two. However, his all-time favorite footballer is Lionel Messi, and evidently, he feels Argentina's glory in 2022 is his favorite FIFA World Cup moment for fulfilling his long-standing dream. He is also an ardent East Bengal fan.
Deepungsu has been a Manchester United supporter since the year 2000. Unsurprisingly, his favorite manager is Sir Alex Ferguson and the Scotsman helped him get through some of the toughest days of his life. Like the fiery Scot, Deepungsu also leaves no stone unturned when it comes to accuracy in articles and only relies on credible sources.
Despite believing in Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland to create an iconic rivalry, Deepungsu reckons no one can match the longevity of Messi and Ronaldo. He spends his leisure time writing about life on his blog, reading books, and playing the guitar.
