1. 28 fans injured in massive NASCAR crash:

At least 28 fans were injured after a massive crash during the Daytona Nationwide Race. One car (#32 in pic) crashed into the barriers after a collision on the final lap, injuring the spectators. The crash impact was so severe the car’s engine was found some distance away from the car.

Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni swung fortunes in India’s favour on Day 3 of the 1st Test against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar series. He became the first Indian wicket-keeper to score a double century.

3. Indian teams come out on top in Round 2 of the Hockey World League:

The Indian Men’s Hockey team celebrates with the trophy after topping the table in Round 2 of the Hockey World League.

Indian Women’s team celebrates after beating Russia 1-0 in their final game of the World Hockey League, Round 2. The women’s team also topped the table.

4. Swansea lift Capital One Cup:

Swansea celebrate after winning the Capital One Cup, their first ever trophy in 100 years of existence. They beat Bradford City 5-0 in the final.

5. Manchester City win ‘El Cashico’:

Joe Hart reacts after saving Frank Lampard’s penalty. Manchester City beat Chelsea 2-0 in the Premier League, in a match dubbed ‘El Cashico’, thanks to the billionaire owners both clubs have.

6. Beckham stars on debut for PSG:

David Beckham thanks fans after the match against Marseilles in Ligue 1. Beckham made an immediate impact on debut as he set up an assist for the second goal by Jeremy Menez as PSG beat Marseilles 2-0.

7. Kobe becomes youngest to reach 31,000 points:

Bryant reaches milestone, Lakers beat Mavs Kobe Bryant became the youngest player to reach 31,000 career points, while scoring 38 points to lead the Los Angeles Lakers to a 103-99 win over the Dallas Mavericks.
