The most decorated British footballer of all-time and arguably Manchester United’s greatest ever player, and their leading appearance maker with over 900 appearances, Ryan Giggs had the misfortune of being born in Wales. Although he has won everything there is to win in club football, he has never been fortunate enough to have a bunch of players around him in the national side of his ilk, and thus he never made it to the World Cup.
But that didn’t stop him from appearing 64 times for the Welsh national team and scoring 12 goals. He called time on his international career in 2007, having never had the opportunity of showing his skills in the biggest stage of them all.
