Arsenal seem to find the silver lining in everything. A goalless draw means a clean sheet and not two points dropped. Robin van Persie leaves, but the team starts playing better.
And this trend seems set to continue with the latest financial results showing a £36 million profit for the club before tax.
Player sales alone contributed £26 million to that number however, confirming our suspicion about Arsenal’s status as a feeder club for Barca and Man City. The sales of Nasri and Fabregas are reflected in these figures, after all.
Any silver lining in this, guys?
Growing tired of being at the wrong end of refereeing decisions in the past two games against Manchester United and West Brom, Brendan Rodgers has now implied that his players may start playing in an unsporting manner to get the decisions.
And of all the examples to give, he came up with the incident of Luiz Suarez being felled in the penalty box against United.
Bit like the boy who cried wolf, isn’t it, Mr. Rodgers? Maybe he can give the rest of the team some lessons?
John Terry has been found guilty of using abusive language with a reference to race/color and handed a four match ban and a £220,000 fine.
Which has had black players in the league threatening to step down from the FA’s Kick It Out anti-racism campaign, as they consider the ban too lenient.
Liverpool fans too are complaining about the lenient ban, as their beloved Suarez got an 8 match ban for a similar incident against Patrice Evra.
And apparently, their next step will be to get the support of Sir Alex Ferguson, who seems to have become an expert at influencing officials!
Terry meanwhile, is least worried about the ban and more about the £800,000 in legal fees, on top of the £220,000 fine!
As though linking Pep Guardiola to United was not enough, reports have now linked him to both Milan clubs.
This is a claim of former Brescia coach Carlo Mazzone, who said to Il Subsidiario that the former Barca coach had called him about it.
True or not, it seems like by July next year, Pep Guardiola will be linked to every other club in Europe, except perhaps Real Madrid.
So if you are a United fan who wants to see Guardiola at the club, or of any other club in Europe who have a Champions League qualification in hand, don’t be disappointed just yet.
The confounding saga of Hugo Lloris continues after fresh reports of trouble brewing between him and manager Andre Villas Boas.
That he would not be No.1 at Tottenham was confirmed by AVB immediately upon the Frenchman’s arrival.
Now it seem he is not even No.2 or No.3 at the club, after he was dropped for even the Capital Cup One match mid-week against Carlisle United, when Hugo Gomes and Carlo Cudicini were preferred over the Frenchman.
The player has now sought fresh talks with AVB, and he has our full sympathy.
Why buy a player when you don’t need him, Mr. Boas?
