The Gooner Perspective - Manchester United Glory Hunters Revealed?

AM
Still got something to say? You must be 1-6 SOB. (no offense intended)

Quick note – I know I’m extremely late, but this had to go out there no matter what, which is why I decided to post it anyways.

“For All Barca fans laughing at us…tell them they aint the top ofthe Spanish league…Leo Messi missed a penalty(LOL)

For All LFC fans laughing at us…tell them COME BACK WHEN YOU ARE 19

For All Arsenal Fans laughing at us…You need another hammering…remember 8-2 ??

For all Chelshit Fans laughing at us…Remember 3-1 and last year defeats ??

For all MAN SHITTY fans laughing..it cost 260.1 million pounds for just a win ..more to it…..Trophies: Man Utd 32 – 1 Shitty

Now **** OFF !

Everyone heard about the way City drubbed United last Sunday, and watching the game with Manchester United fans was funny enough, but what was even funnier were the way people responded to the result. A wide variety of jokes related to the scoreline (6-1, in case you’ve been hiding under a rock and haven’t heard) went viral, and while some were incredibly witty and some rather dry. And then there were reactions to the result on social networking websites like Twitter and Facebook, which were, hands down, the most entertaining spectacle of the weekend.

But what have u achieved compared to us??NOTHING

Atleast this happens only once in some decades for us, but it’s a weekly affair for u arsenal fans…Now, that’s really sad…”

Now I know how Arsenal supporters feel……. I felt it for a day….they face it throughout the year… lol!!

United have won sumthing every season for the past 5 years….arsenal havent even touched silverware for 6 season”

Looking back, it seemed quite obvious that whatever I saw were posts from people who were reacting to posts that their friends (who probably supported other clubs) had posted, but the way some people set out with the sole intention of attacking other supporters without accepting the fact that they had a terrible game, still remains a mystery. Why is it that when your own team had lost 6-1 to its derby rivals and arguably their biggest threat to retaining the title, did the self-proclaimed Manchester United “fans” attack Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool supporters? I mean, sure, they made fun of the fact that your team had a one-off incredibly pathetic loss to City, but attacking other clubs doesn’t really take away the fact that your team still lost 6-1, does it?

Still got something to say? You must be 1-6 deranged idiot!(no offense intended)

This, to me, is a clear sign of someone who is supporting a club, not because they genuinely love a club or have a special connection with their team (and trust me, if you think I’m being stupid by saying this, you’ve just not experienced it yet), but because all they care about are bragging rights. Bragging rights come through winning trophies, and logically speaking, if someone supports a team just because they’re winning trophies… well, you get the picture.

If not, well, now you do.

If not, well, now you do.

Now obviously there will be some people that will react to this in the wrong way, but let it be known that I don’t care – I’m entitled to have my opinion and you’re entitled to have yours. But, just so you know (considering most of you glory hunters aren’t doing a good job at covering up who you truly are), I believe that the right thing to say after your team loses in an incredibly pathetic fashion is doing anything to show that you will not give up on your team, and doing anything to show your support in the right manner. Positive posts make for better reads than someone having to pointlessly attack other teams, because lets face it, on the day your team has lost 6-1, there is no point in trying to brag about your team – you’re really making a fool out of yourself.

And this is why I believe that a post like this made a lot more sense –

Respect. I'm not even kidding.

Respect. I'm not even kidding.

It was definitely something I could identify with. And it was by far, the best post that I saw from a United supporter after the 6-1 mauling.

So yeah, moral of the story – don’t support a team for bragging rights. We’re better off without you, glory hunters!
