Matchday 3: Bournemouth 2-2 Everton
Game-week three saw a couple of exciting encounters: Wolves' one-all draw with Man City, Arsenal's 3-1 win over West Ham and Fulham's 4-2 victory over Burnley. The drama-filled encounter between Bournemouth and Everton at the Vitality Stadium, however, is our pick of the lot.
The two sides went toe-to-toe for much of the first half eager to continue their unbeaten runs to this point. The tie really came to life late in the half when Everton's in-form forward Richarlison was sent off for an apparent headbutt on right-back Adam Smith.
The away side was not fazed and took the lead in the 56th minute courtesy of a near-post finish by Theo Walcott.
Bournemouth then got in trouble soon after as Smith was sent off for a foul on Walcott. Everton looked to have secured the three points when Michael Keane doubled their lead with a headed goal five minutes later.
Inspired by the lively Callum Wilson, the home side mounted an impressive fight-back. Josh King converted a penalty won by Wilson in the 75th minute before Wilson flicked on a Jordon Ibe corner which was converted from close range by Nathan Ake on 79 minutes.
The tie then turned sour as Keane had to be stretchered off wearing a neck brace after a nasty mid-air collision with Everton teammate Idrissa Gueye late on. The match ultimately ending in a 2-2 draw.
