Matchday 4: Brighton 2-2 Fulham
Fulham wasted the best chance of the opening twenty minutes through Aleksandar Mitrovic and they were almost made to rue the opportunity soon after when Brighton was gifted a penalty in the 25th minute. Glenn Murray tried to turn Fulham's Luciano Vietto in the penalty area and was fouled with the referee awarding the spot-kick.
Up stepped Pascal Gross to take it but he was denied by an outstanding penalty save by Fulham goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli.
Fulham proceeded to take the lead in the 43rd minute. Andre Schurrle finishing off a genius scooped pass by Jean Michael Serri. The Cottagers then doubled their lead in the second half when Mitrovic pounced on an uncharacteristic error by Lewis Dunk to score past Bettinelli at the second time of asking.
Fulham seemed to be cruising to the three points until they gave the ball away in their own half, Anthony Knockaert picking out Murray who finished off the attack with a cool finish. A second error led to the equalizer for Brighton as Mitrovic handled the ball in the area giving away a penalty.
This time, Murray stepped up to score his second of the match with an emphatic penalty kick in the 84th minute, with both teams settling for the draw.
