Wolverhampton Wanderers star Adama Traore has hailed Cristiano Ronaldo as the best player he has faced in his career.

Traore came through the ranks at FC Barcelona, where he made just four appearances before joining Aston Villa in 2015 for £7 million (€10 million). During his stint in Spain, Ronaldo was with Real Madrid, whom he helped win a plethora of titles.

Ronaldo spent nine seasons with Los Blancos, scoring 450 goals and picking up 131 assists in appearances across competitions.

Speaking on the latest episode of Simply the Best, Traore named Ronaldo as the best player he has faced. He even called the Portuguese superstar one of the best player in football history (via GOAL):

“Cristiano Ronaldo. The quick feet to shoot was [so] impressive, and he can [use] both feet to shoot as well. He’s one of the best players in history too.”

The 27-year-old named Ronaldo's arch-rival Lionel Messi as the best player he has worked alongside.

“Lionel Messi. For me, he’s one of the best players in history. A part of being talented is he likes to work, work hard, the touch he has, the quick feet, the control and vision on the pitch. Every ball comes to his feet and he never missed, that was impressive.”

After stints at Juventus and Manchester United following his Real Madrid exit, Cristiano Ronaldo is currently with Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Nassr.

Ronaldo joined the Saudi Pro League side on a free transfer this January, after agreeing to terminate his contract with Red Devils. He has since made 17 appearances for Al-Nassr, scoring 13 times and registering two assists.

On Tuesday, May 16, Ronaldo scored from the spot to help his team defeat Al-Taee 2-0 and remain just three points behind league leaders Al-Ittihad. The table-toppers were held to a 2-2 draw by Al-Hilal.

After the win, Ronaldo stated that Al-Nassr are still in the title race and will 'keep believing until the end', despite just three games remaining in the league season.

The 38-year-old took to Instagram and said:

"Important win tonight, 3 more games ahead! We keep believing until the end!"
