The Return of the Barclays Premier League

Fellow Football Fanatics Rejoice ! The 3 month long excruciating and grueling wait is finally over ( insert sounds of firecrackers here ) . The EPL season starts this Saturday i.e the 13th of august , so don your favorite team jerseys, grab the remote ( don’t forget the beers !! ) , and get ready for some explosive action as the teams fight out for the league title.

What is more appealing than the players surfacing from their dugouts in their new kits, the butterflies in your stomach before kick off , the sweet smell of the glistening green grass (* you have to be at the game to savor it ), the euphonious blow of the whistle better than any of your favorite rock tracks . ( bear with me if i am being too melodramatic but seriously don’t you feel the same way ? )

With the new season, arise new hopes and aspirations for both the fans and the players alike, its the whole roller-coaster ride again, race to the NO.1 spot on the table to be crowned the Champions of England. New opponents and rivals, the three new teams promoted to the Barclays premier league this year i.e; Queens Park Rangers ( managed by Neil Warnock ), Norwich City ( Paul Lambert ) and finally Swansea City (Brendan Rogers ) who won the playoffs after beating reading 4-2 will strive to thrive in the worlds most competitive league, while the rest battle it out mano e mano to climb to the top of the table.

It is a pivotal season for Liverpool, after losing out their position on the perch to their bitter rivals United last season, they will have to be on top of their game to try to topple United off the most coveted spot in the Footballing universe. With Chelsea , Arsenal , City and Tottenham also in a position to fight for the no.1 spot , the competition in the English Premier League has transcended boundaries.

Wesley Sneijder

The most important thing is the new signings which decides the teams fate, none of us can wait to see how they will they turn out to be, will they be another Chicharito or just another Torres ( No Offense ! ). Notably how well can they fill into the shoes of the previous players. There is so much drama waiting to happen in the transfer window with just a few days to go. There has been much speculation about the future of Wesley Sneijder who has been linked with various clubs most notably United and City. Arsenal’s future might be in jeopardy with rumors that both Samir Nasri and Cesc Fabregas are considering a move away from the north London club. If the rumors are to be true Fabregas will return to his previous club Barcelona.

United's 19th Community shield

The first silverware of the season i.e; the community shield has already been snapped by the reigning champions Manchester United . United and city locked horns at the legendary Wembley jam packed with over 77000 spectators. United found themselves in a grueling position after the first half with 2 goals down albeit their majority of possession. But yet again Fergie’s men came from behind in similar style like last season against Blackpool with a brace from Nani and Chris Smalling’s goal sealed United’s Victory over their derby rivals again .

Who is gonna be crowned the Champions this time ? (I cant really answer that question , gee I am not a fortune teller ) Sit back, take a deep breath and keep your fingers crossed and let the Season unfold !!!
