Ashlyn Harris: The US Womens Football squad is in great vibes for FIFA women's World Cup campaign
U.S. Women's goalkeeper Ashlyn Harris and defender Kelley O'Hara spoke from the Red Bull Arena in Harrison, New Jersey on Saturday, on the eve of their friendly match against Mexico, their last before traveling to France for the World Cup.
The three-time World Cup winner and defending champions will start their campaign in the tournament against Thailand on June 11th before facing Chile five days later and Sweden on June 20th.
The U.S. have won their first World Cup in 1991 in China, when they defeated Norway 2-1 in the final.
Their second title came in 1999 at home with a 5-4 victory on penalties over China.
Four years ago, they triumphed for a record third time defeating Japan 5-2 in the final.
The U.S. were runner-up in 2011 in Germany and finished in third position in 1995, 2003 and 2007.
