In Football, there are people who like to grab the attention of the media and love to share a few tidbits with the rest of the world through the media. But there are some people who courts controversies for all the wrong reasons. There are many loudmouths in the world of football who like to criticize others for foul play or to take-away our attention from a match defeat.
Let us have a look at the “Top 5 Loudmouths” in the world of Football:
5) WAYNE ROONEY:
In at number 5 comes the Manchester United Star Wayne Rooney, who when in a bad mood can be the center of a controversy. Let me give you some examples of Rooney’s misadventures. Rooney was sent off in a Champions League clash against Villareal for sarcastically clapping at the ref who gave him a Booking for an unintentional foul. Then in 2006 he was sent off for elbowing a defender in another Champions League match, and most recently he was banned for 3 games for Swearing at the Camera after scoring a hat-trick against West Ham. He was also involved in a twitter fight where he challenged a guy to come onto United’s Training ground and fight him, which he later Dismissed as ‘just banter’.
4) JOSE MOURINHO:
At number 4 is the current manager of Real Madrid Jose Mourinho. Although he is an excellent tactician and a great manager, he does have a bit of eccentricity in him. Who can forget his touchline run after Porto equalized against manutd who eventually went on to win the title, or silencing the Liverpool fans after Chelsea beat them to win the League Cup in 2005. He also punched an United Fan after his Inter Team Lost 2-0 at Old Trafford In the 2008/09 season, or his celebration at Camp Nou after Inter won the semi final leg against Barcelona and went on to win the Champions League.’ The Special One recently criticized the match official’s and UNICEF(Barcelona’s sponsors) after his Real Madrid team Controversially lost in the UCL Semi Final 1st Leg to Barca at Santiago Bernabeu.3) MAURIZIO ZAMPARINI: At number 3 we have the president of the Italian football club Palermo. Maurizio Zamparini who maybe is the most controversial President of a football club. His Comments are infamous for all the wrong reasons and he is a man who is not affraid to say anything that he wants to say. In 2008 when Palermo lost 3-1 to Torino, after taking the lead in the first half and this loss being the fifth loss in the last six games, Zamparini branded his players as a team of girls. Recently with Speculation rife about the future of Javier Pastore (who is now officially a PSG Player) he said that his right boot alone costs €40m. When in January his team lost 3-1 to Cagliari he said that, all the Referee’s must be put in a prison.
2) JOEY BARTON:
At number 2 we have Joey Barton who plays(or played as he is listed as a free agent) for Newcastle United. Some of his off field shenanigans lead to 5 months of jail time after he assaulted a Liverpool fan outside a Mcdonalds restaurant in Merseyside. He also assaulted his former Manchester City teammate Ousmane Dabo, when he was at Eastlands and this proved to be end to his City Career. He has got numerous red cards in his career through dangerous fouls such as two footed challenges and also for punching his opponent etc. Recently Barton was denied Visa to the U.S where his Team were due to play a pre season friendlies. He is also very active in the social networking site twitter where he criticized the Newcastle management for not making any signings and for selling key players.
1) MARIO BALOTELLI:
And in numero uno we have Mario Balotelli who perhaps is the most controversial player in the world at the moment. When he was at Inter Milan he had a bad relationship with then Inter manager Jose Mourinho and also said that his favorite club was AC Milan Who are Inter’s most fiercest rivals. He once threw his inter jersey on the floor, after the inter fans had booed him for his poor performances in the Champions League semi final Tie against Barcelona.
At Manchester City he was in the news for throwing darts at the youth team players, and in an interview he said that he did’nt know who Jack Wilshere was and declared that Lionel Messi was the only player better than him. He and his Brother once drove through the gates of an Italian Women’s Prison without a permit and when questioned about it he said that he was ‘just curious’ to see what is really inside. Recently in a friendly match in USA he attempted a back heel goal when he was clear through on goal and was in a good position to score, which saw him immediately substituted by a furious Mancini.
