Manchester United had one of their worst starts in their premier league history, having suffered three defeats already. They currently sit in a shocking 12th position in the league table.
Can Moyes turn the tide and make them re-enter the title race this season? Moyes should concentrate on climbing the table and reach the top four before this year end. Then, they can reinforce their squad in the January window and go for the title kill. According to the latest reports, the club owners are ready to give a massive transfer budget of £100m (if needed) to Moyes to spend in the winter window.
If these reports are true, then who should Moyes sign? United still have tremendous depth when it comes to strikers as they have got RVP, Rooney, Welbeck and Chicharito. Their main problem lies in the midfield. Other than Carrick, they lack bodies in the midfield who can lock pick opponent’s defense.
£30 million rated Athletic Bilbao midfielder Ander Herrera is probably the right man to save their midfield troubles. Manchester United were linked with a move to bring the Spanish midfielder to Old Trafford in the Summer transfer window, but the deal collapsed as United were not ready to match Bilbao’s valuation for the play maker.
Many have likened Herrera to former Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas, due to the youngster’s amazing vision and creativity in the pitch. With Manchester United failing to sign Cesc in Summer, they should forget about him (as Barca will no way sell him) and concentrate on signing Herrera.
Herrera has everything (in his game) that is required to have an immediate impact for the Red Devils to help them in their title defence. So, United negotiators need to stop being stingy and offer the right price that will lure the star to Old Trafford in January.
