Giuseppe Rossi
Giuseppe Rossi missed nearly two years of football through injury, but he is a man possessed these days for Fiorentina, where he leads the Italian league with nine goals in 10 games. With a conversion rate of 36%, Rossi’s form speaks for itself.
The Italian striker is currently tearing apart Serie A with several inspirational performances for the Florence side – his hat-trick against Juventus will be the biggest highlight of his season so far.
Rossi is, by his own admission, is happier playing off another striker than leading the line on his own, this makes him the perfect striker partner for Spurs’ summer signing, Roberto Soldado.
At 26-years-of-age, this could be the perfect time for the Italian to finally make his return to the Premier League and White Hart Lane could prove his ideal destination.
Alexandre Pato
Tottenham have been given a boost in the hunt for Corinthians striker Alexandre Pato after the Brazilian club confirmed they could sell the striker in January.
In 25 appearances last season, the Brazilian scored just eight goals, with a chance conversion rate of 18.2%. Whilst he hasn’t yet lived up to the hype he received as a youngster, perhaps a move to the Premier League would help him finally fulfil his potential.
The Corinthians striker ended is his club’s top scorer and interestingly for Tottenham fans he spent the season playing alongside former teammate Paulinho – this could prove a beneficial partnership in the future.
Villas-Boas is allegedly a huge fan of the former AC Milan striker, having tried to sign him in the closing stages of the summer transfer window. With Jermain Defoe and Emmanuel Adebayor’s time at the club nearing an end, perhaps Pato would be the ideal signing for the London side.
Having made just two appearances in the Premier League this season, Chelsea’s Demba Ba could be looking for a move away from Stamford Bridge in the New Year.
Ba has accumulated just 136 minutes of league football this campaign and with Villas-Boas looking to sign a new attacker Spurs could prove the perfect escape route for the Senegalese striker.
Fans of the Premier League know exactly how good Ba can be, especially when given a decent spell of first-team football. At Newcastle last season he scored 13 goals in 20 appearances, ending the campaign as the club’s top scorer despite leaving in the January transfer window.
The chance to work under Villas-Boas could be exactly what is needed to re-establish his previous form. A move to Spurs would be ideal for Ba as, it is fair to say, his move to Chelsea has seen limited moments of success.
