Alexandre Pato’s goals at Corinthians

Tottenham have been given a boost in the hunt for Corinthians striker Alexandre Pato after the Brazilian club confirmed they could sell the striker in January.

In 25 appearances last season, the Brazilian scored just eight goals, with a chance conversion rate of 18.2%. Whilst he hasn’t yet lived up to the hype he received as a youngster, perhaps a move to the Premier League would help him finally fulfil his potential.

The Corinthians striker ended is his club’s top scorer and interestingly for Tottenham fans he spent the season playing alongside former teammate Paulinho – this could prove a beneficial partnership in the future.

Villas-Boas is allegedly a huge fan of the former AC Milan striker, having tried to sign him in the closing stages of the summer transfer window. With Jermain Defoe and Emmanuel Adebayor’s time at the club nearing an end, perhaps Pato would be the ideal signing for the London side.
