Three players that could leave Chelsea on Transfer Deadline Day

With little business expected on the buying front, deadline day could see the squad trimmed with some last minute bids on both a permanent and temporary basis.

With a settled defensive unit, we would expect most of the transfer activity to centre around our packed midfield and the forward positions.

Having posted about Juan Mata and how we should expect some interest here are the other players we speculate could be subject to bids.

Rumoured Clubs: Arsenal, West Brom, Liverpool

With the signing of Samuel Eto’o and the return of Romelu Lukaku on loan, Demba Ba may find his playing time limited.

With a proven track record in the Premier League, we could see a clutch on mid/lower table Premier League clubs enquire about his services on loan or possibly a permanent transfer.

I think the club would be generally receptive if the right offer came along and we could see him leave the club before the window closes.

Likelihood of leaving: 9/10

Rumoured Clubs: Everton

Our back up left-back will be a key part of the squad for the season but that is unlikely to stop admiring glances from Everton should they sell Leighton Baines.

I think the club are unlikely to entertain this as it would weaken our team on the left hand side and leave us over reliant on the fitness of Ashley Cole.

Highly unlikely to happen but an approach may be forthcoming.

Likelihood of leaving: 2/10

Rumoured Clubs: Galatasary, Napoli

A marmite player for Chelsea fans, he is a veteran of Jose Mourinho’s first spell at the club and it appears that despite interest he has spurned it to compete for his place at the club.

He has been the subject of interest from Turkey and Napoli, which is surprising given how little it seemed the “interim one” liked him last season.

Despite a packed midfield, he is the best option we have in the “Makalele” role and will get game time depending on the tactics being employed.

Given his desire to stay, this one seems unlikely.

Likelihood of leaving: 3/10
