#2 A solid defense that can keep teams out
In the Championship last year, Wolves possessed the best attack and defense in the league, with a goal difference of 43.
The Premier League, however, poses an altogether different challenge with no obstacle bigger than Manchester City. Nuno Santo's side could learn a lot from Sean Dyche's Burnley, who denied City all three points in their meeting back in March.
The Manchester club was, of course, dominant during the match with 20 shots on goal and 71% possession. Many of City's efforts, however, were speculative and it took a curling effort from Danilo to break the deadlock.
Only seven out of City's 20 shots went on target and in the 82nd minute, Johan Gudmundsson rewarded Burnley's stubborn defending with a much-needed equalizer.
The trio at the heart of the defense proved crucial, as Nick Pope, Ben Mee, and Kevin Long all kept the City attack at bay for most of the game.
Although Kevin Long generally makes way for James Tarkowski, either one of them can play at the back because of the defense's organization and the understanding between each defender.
Two of Wolves' current squad earnt a place in the 2018 Championship Team of the Year - John Ruddy and Conor Coady. Despite the addition of Rui Patricio, the backline has not changed - something that is key for a defense.
The defenders in question are not of the highest caliber but have the awareness and concentration needed to form a solid unit.
