Liverpool centre-back Tiago Ilori is likely to be offloaded on loan for the whole of next season again, according to journalist James Pearce at the Liverpool Echo.
The 20-year-old defender joined the club on transfer deadline day last September, joining the Reds with Victor Moses and Mamadou Sakho. He commanded a fee of £7 million for his services, with Rodgers confirming at the time that the youngster was one for the future.
Competition has been fierce at the back for Ilori, with Mamadou Sakho, Martin Skrtel, Daniel Agger and Kolo Toure all fighting for a slot in defence.
Ilori has yet to make a senior appearance since joining from Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon, however, he has appeared on the bench three times and played numerous matches for the Under-21′s.
Ilori spent the whole of last season on-loan at Spanish side Granada and after impressing, it was thought Rodgers would give him a go next season. However, James Pearce, who was taking part in a web chat for the Liverpool Echo, said that it is likely that the young defender will be offloaded on loan for another campaign.
